Japan's Nikkei reverses early loss on report of new government stimulus

Japan's Nikkei share average nudged higher on Wednesday, slightly recovering from earlier losses, as markets reacted positively to a Reuters' report that the new premier is preparing a sizeable inflation-fighting stimulus package.
The Nikkei was up 0.1 per cent at 49,357.88, as of 0511 GMT.
The broader Topix extended gains to trade 0.7 per cent higher at 3,271.12, putting it just below an all-time high of 3,274.06 marked in the previous session.
The 10-year Japanese government bond yield eased 0.5 basis point (bp) to 1.65 per cent, staying within this week's tight range.
The two- and five-year yields each fell 1 bp to 0.925 per cent and 1.215 per cent, respectively.
