This section presents various activities carried out by the thematic working groups: Music, Art, and Culture for Peace and Nonviolence; Universal Human Nation / World Citizens’ Assembly; Education; and Pressenza / Nonviolent Journalism. The World Humanist Forum is a permanent space for dialogue and joint action for individuals and organizations from different cultures and regions of the world. According to the founding definitions provided by the humanist thinker and activist Silo at the first World Humanist Forum in Moscow (1993), “the objective of this forum is to study and establish a position on global issues, by structurally linking the phenomena of science, politics, art, and religion.”

Charlie Kirk’s family reacts after case sent to trial

The family of assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk released a statement Tuesday after a judge ruled the murder case against the Utah man accused of assassinating Kirk last year is headed for trial. Utah District Judge Tony Graf on Tuesday sided with prosecutors who said they had “overwhelming” evidence that suspect Tyler Robinson shot Kirk once in the neck as the ally of President Donald Trump spoke to a crowd of thousands last September in Orem, Utah. Robinson’s lawyers tried to block a trial, arguing that prosecutors failed to give enough evidence to show Kirk’s shooting endangered people around him.

BOSTON — U.S. Sen. Ed J. Markey won the Democratic Senate primary on Tuesday, defeating six-term U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton, D-6th District. The Associated Press called the race for Markey, 80 at 8:31 p.m. Markey defeated Moulton 72.7% to 27.3%, according to unofficial tallies. Moulton, first elected in 2014, argued that Markey was too old and it was time for generational change in the Bay State.

Sen. Ed Markey won Massachusetts’ Democratic Senate primary Tuesday, turning back a challenge from Rep. Seth Moulton that centered on the 80-year-old incumbent’s age. A final Emerson College Polling survey found Markey leading Moulton 60% to 33% among likely Democratic primary voters, with voters under 40 breaking decisively toward Markey. In Massachusetts, many voters appeared to separate Markey’s age from his politics, viewing the longtime senator as more closely aligned with a younger generation of progressives than his younger opponent.
