Madurai Railway Division has posted senior officials from the Commercial department to oversee the special arrangements being made at different railway stations for managing heavy rush of crowd of passengers anticipated after Deepavali festival, said Madurai Divisional Railway Manager, Om Prakash Meena. Inspecting the arrangments made at Madurai railway junction, Mr. Om Prakash said that officials in the rank of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Divisional Commercial Manager, and Assistant Commercial Managers were deployed at important railway stations like Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Virudhunagar, Dindigul, Karaikudi and Palani. Besides, Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police personnel were deployed to manage the crowd. Similarly, it would also prevent any trouble caused to passengers of the reserved coaches in other trains,” Mr. Om Prakash said. “We are pumping out the water and have also sought the support of State Government to prevent track circuit failure,” Mr. Om Prakash said.
