With reference to ‘Harness the power of finfluencers’ (August 12), the growing interest of Gen Z and millennial investors guided by the market influencers, either directly or through chatbots for investment advice, is noteworthy. The AI supported “Project Sudarshan” tool by the regulator should aim to coordinate with all the other financial regulators and streamline the transactional transparency, for the benefit of both the influencer and young investor community, through light touch regulations. The article rightly calls for assimilation of these finfluencers into SEBI’s framework of investor protection so that the influencers with integrity and knowledge remain to provide appropriate advice to the young investors.
