Ride-hailing platform Uber has expanded its footprint to 100 more cities, taking its presence to 225 cities across the country, as competition in the bike-taxi segment intensifies. The company plans to deepen its presence in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, where rivals are also looking to expand. The funding will be used largely to expand its presence in tier-2 and other markets beyond the major cities, the company said. Uber, one of the largest ride-hailing players in the country, now sees Rapido as its biggest competitor in India. The company has also infused ₹3,000 crore into its India operations, recently.
