The Kadapa district police have apprehended two government employees on suspension for their alleged involvement in a job scam involving ₹3.80 crore. It was way back in 2018 that the two had promised government jobs under G.O. No.1005 to some unemployed youth, collecting ₹10-15 lakh from each of them and paying nearly ₹2 crore towards bribe. The two allegedly resorted to ‘fabricating’ proceedings and appointment letters by forging the signature of Zilla Praja Parishad officials, including the former Administrative Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Executive Officer, in addition to faking their official seals. Kadapa One Town Police registered a case under Crime No.101/2026 and primarily found the loss to the State exchequer to the tune of ₹3.80 crore.
