The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has secured two days’ custody of suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police Sankireddy Bheem Reddy for questioning in the disproportionate assets case against him. The agency is also examining alleged benami properties, including around 47 acres of agricultural land in Zaheerabad, besides other properties. According to the ACB, the market value of the properties could be around ₹150 crore if the alleged benami assets are included. Bheem Reddy has denied the allegations and claimed that several properties attributed to him actually belonged to third parties. During the two-day custody, the ACB is expected to question Bheem Reddy about the properties, financial transactions and alleged benami holdings and confront him with evidence gathered during the searches.
