The Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TG RERA) has imposed penalties totalling ₹67.62 lakh on four real estate projects for violations of provisions of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016. TG RERA had earlier found that the developer advertised, marketed and booked units and collected sale consideration without obtaining mandatory registration for the project. A penalty of ₹14.84 lakh and ₹2.83 lakh was imposed on AV Infracon Private Limited for its ‘AV’s West Heights’ and ‘AV’s East Residency’ projects. In both the cases, TG RERA noted that the respondent did not appear before it or file a response despite being served notice and a show-cause notice. The promoters have been given 30 days from receipt of the orders to remit the penalties to the TG RERA Fund.
