Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has said that the State Government is ready to collaborate with Indian Army to encourage the State’s youth to participate in various Army recruitment drives. The Army officers should accordingly organise training programmes in some identified district headquarters to create awareness among local youth for recruitment. The Chief Minister made this request when General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command Lieutenant General C. Rajesh Pushkar, called on him on Wednesday. The meeting focussed on various issues, including Army recruitment and Army’s role in disaster management. Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar assured that he would instruct local officials to take special initiative during disaster situations in Telangana.
