TDP State general secretary P. Ashok Babu wrote a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav on Wednesday seeking uniformity in the procedures related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in order to maintain public confidence in it.
Mr. Ashok Babu stated that personal appearance before the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) be insisted only when it was genuinely necessary for rectifying discrepancies and the routine cases be verified through the Booth-Level Officers (BLOs) like it was being done in several other States.
Mr. Ashok Babu requested that the lists of ASDD (Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate) electors be provided to each Booth-Level Agent (BLA) by the BLO concerned along with proper acknowledgement, and displayed on the notice boards of the Gram Panchayats / Ward Secretariats.
He wanted the process of identification and enrolment of eligible new voters to be actively taken up by the BLOs, particularly with regard to citizens who attained the qualifying age as on July 1, 2026, and were otherwise eligible for inclusion in the electoral rolls.
Lastly, he requested the removal / modification of documents uploaded incorrectly in the Claims & Objections section of the CEO Portal.
