Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has asserted that he will not tolerate any ‘blackmail’ by millers when it comes to collection of dues from them. He directed the Civil Supplies department officials to formulate a comprehensive policy to collect dues from the rice millers. He wanted the officials to collect dues from millers who have defaulted in payments and directed them to take over the mills operated by wilful defaulters. Options should be explored to entrust the operation of mills of defaulting rice millers to women self-help groups. Mr. Reddy wanted the officials to take up a project for construction of godowns spread over 50 to 100 acres in five constituencies on pilot basis.
