Practical exposure, thorough preparation, professional ethics and continuous learning are essential for success in legal profession, former Karnataka High Court judge C.M. Joshi told law students at the Central University of Karnataka (CUK), Kalaburagi, on Wednesday. Mr. Joshi cautioned students against relying uncritically on artificial intelligence (AI) in legal work. While AI could assist in legal research and judicial processes, he emphasised that human judgment and proper verification remained essential. The session focused on practical dimensions of the legal profession, courtroom conduct, professional ethics, legal research and the emerging role of AI in the justice system.
