Indian Railways has cleared the construction of a four-lane Road Over Bridge at Level Crossing No. 305 on the Geratpur-Ahmedabad section of Western Railway, a move aimed at making road movement in the area safer and quicker. The approval has been granted under Western Railway's existing umbrella scheme covering road over and under bridges, foot over bridges, drainage works and the rebuilding of existing road bridges. This will be followed by a viaduct of 150 metres, while the railway approach will stretch to 595 metres. Once ready, the bridge will do away with the waiting time road users currently face at the level crossing, permitting vehicles to cross the tracks without interruption at any hour of the day.
