The projects going live are the Metro Line 2B stretch running from Diamond Garden to Chembur Naka and the Santacruz Chembur Link Road extension up to the Western Express Highway. Metro Line 2B's first stretch, between Mandale and Diamond Garden, opened on 8 April. The extension is also expected to improve access to Chembur, the Harbour line and south Mumbai," an MMRDA official said. The SCLR extension consists of a four-lane elevated stretch measuring 500 metres, along with two-lane ramps of 90 metres at either end. Each tunnel measures 10.25 km, with 5.75 km being dug from the Borivali end and 6.09 km from the Thane side.
