India has never won a gold medal at the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals. Competitive programming (CP) is one of the clearest tools to find deep technical talent. Jump Trading employs many former competitive programmers including ICPC World Finals winners, medallists, and participants. Most students encounter CP late, often only because a motivated senior happened to build a community at their college. India does not need to replace JEE or dismiss the college hierarchy; it needs to broaden how it reads technical promises.
