Two person were dead and one was injured after a landslide hit the Kurla region in Mumbai eastern suburb on Wednesday (August 12, 2026). At least six persons are reported to be trapped under the debris. Rescue operation is underway. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reported this as a level II incident which occurred around 3:48 a.m. at Gaushiya Chawl in Chirag Nagar, Near Rathod Medical in Kurla West. As per witnesses, six to eight persons were trapped under the debris,” a BMC official said.
