Cauvery Committee, Authority to meet on Tuesday to review water situation

With Tamil Nadu realising a little over 4.5 thousand million cubic feet (tmc ft.) as mandated by the the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) and the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) this month, the two bodies are holding their meetings on Tuesday to take stock of the situation.
Cumulatively (since June 1), the total amount of quantum received was around 8.3 tmc ft.
In a normal year, the State should have got around 49 tmc ft. till now.
As on date, the combined storage of four reservoirs in Karnataka was around 88 tmc ft. against the total capacity of 114.57 tmc ft.
In the last two-odd months, the reservoirs have cumulatively received 77.75 tmc ft. and discharged 21.46 tmc ft. As for the Mettur dam in Tamil Nadu, the storage was 40.35 tmc ft. against the capacity of 93.47 tmc ft.
