Dramatic scenes unfolded in the Assembly on Tuesday, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta citing findings from two Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports on “irregularities” during the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) tenure. She said her government has been spraying “pesticides” to improve the system infested by “termites”. Ruling party MLAs accused AAP’s Kuldeep Kumar of throwing rice in the well of the House while he was being marshalled out. Addressing the House later in the day, the CM urged Speaker Vijender Gupta to take cognisance of the audit reports, which she said had exposed “financial mismanagement and irregularities” under AAP. Ms. Gupta said action on the audit reports must be expedited so that those responsible for “misusing public funds” face legal action.
