After missing several deadlines, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is making renewed efforts to complete the Smart Street Vending Zone at Yendada by the end of August. The Yendada project is one of the three smart street vending zones planned by the GVMC to provide organised, hygienic and modern vending spaces for street vendors. The Yendada vending zone has been designed to accommodate 85 eligible and officially recognised street vendors. Meanwhile, the Smart Street Vending Zone at Duvvada is being developed to accommodate around 45 recognised street vendors. Mr. Garg said the GVMC had recently made a presentation before the Central Government on the concept, design and features of the Yendada Smart Street Vending Zone.
