HYDERABADAfter a gap of nearly six years, trial run of the Fourth Unit of the 6×150 megawatt Srisailam Left Bank Hydro-Electric Station (SLBHES), which remained out of order since August 20, 2020 following a major fire accident, was conducted in the wee hours of August 11 and was synchronised with the grid. According to officials of Telangana Power Generation Corporation Ltd (TG-Genco), after obtaining permission for charging the generation of Unit-4 from the Chief Electrical Inspector and after carrying out all necessary pre-commissioning tests, the Unit-4 was synchronised with the grid early on August 11. Further fine-tuning working such as dynamic balanching, turbine auto-tuning and others were taken up from Tuesday morning for ensuring smooth running of the unit. The unit was initially re-commissioned on October 2, 2025 but it had tripped on air gap protection on the morning of October 3. Earlier, its initial trial run and commissioning was conducted on July 29, 2023 and after running for about 80 hours the unit tripped in the wee hours of August 17.
