A 29-year-old Nepal native accused in the killing of the wife of a retired IPS officer at their Prashasan Nagar residence has been detained under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act by the Hyderabad City Police. Aauji is one of the accused in the killing of 62-year-old Tanuja Ranjan, wife of retired IPS officer Ray Vinay Ranjan, at their residence within the limits of Jubilee Hills police station on May 8. 307 of 2026 at Jubilee Hills police station under Sections 103(1), 309(2) and 317(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The police said the decision was taken after considering the nature and gravity of the alleged offences and the material placed before the competent authority. Aauji was detained and lodged under the PD Act on Tuesday.
