The Centre on Tuesday (August 11, 2026) summoned Air India’s management to seek a detailed update on the August 4 Phuket-Delhi flight incident, sources told businessline.
According to sources, senior Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) officials pulled up the airline’s management over the occurrence.
However, the result has not been officially confirmed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) or Air India.
As per sources, tough questions were put to the Air India management during the meeting, with the Ministry seeking clarity on the sequence of events and the measures taken by the airline following the occurrence.
Speaking to reporters later in the day, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu said the Ministry wanted a direct update from Air India on how it was handling the incident.
