A section of the Gurugram-Sohna elevated highway near Subhash Chowk suffered fresh damage on Monday (10 August) evening, forcing another lane disruption at a stretch that is already undergoing repairs following a major road cave-in earlier this year. The latest subsidence occurred when a truck carrying construction material travelled across the section while heading towards the area where repair work is in progress. One lane was subsequently shut to traffic as repair work began. The recurring problems have drawn attention because the Gurugram-Sohna elevated highway was developed at an estimated cost of around Rs 2,000 crore. Repair work is now continuing on the affected lane.
