The Andhra Pradesh Government has ordered the temporary (ad-interim) attachment of certain properties allegedly acquired with funds collected from AgriGold depositors, in a move aimed at preventing their sale or transfer and safeguarding the interests of thousands of depositors.
The government issued G.O.Ms.No.146 on Tuesday, ordering the attachment of the properties pending further legal proceedings in the case.
However, the company allegedly failed to repay the amounts due to depositors or register the promised plots in several cases.
The government has invoked the relevant legal provisions to temporarily attach the properties suspected to have been acquired with the depositors’ money.
The attachment prohibits the sale, transfer, alienation or other dealings involving the properties without the permission of the competent authority.
