Awareness programme on EPF held for MSMEs in Coimbatore

COIMBATOREThe Employees Provident Fund Organisation(EPFO), Coimbatore regional office, offered to set up a helpdesk at the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia) to help MSME units in the region adopt the new provident fund schemes.
The Codissia and the EPFO organised an awareness meeting in Coimbatore city on Tuesday on the new EPF schemes – Vishwas, employees enrolment campaign, amnesty scheme, and the four labour codes.
Swagata Rai, Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner, Coimbatore Regional Office, and K. Prasant, Regional PF Commissioner (Grade I), spoke in detail about the new schemes and clarified the doubts raised by the MSME unit owners.
T.J. Ramesh Kumar, Labour Enforcement Officer (Central), Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) Organisation, spoke on the four labour codes.
V. Rangaswamy, the Codissia president, emphasised the need for the government to handhold MSMEs to implement the new labour codes.
