Chairman of the Irrigation Advisory Committee and Koppal district in-charge Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi on Tuesday announced that water from the Tungabhadra reservoir was being released with immediate effect into various canals at the rate of 4,100 cusecs for 90 days, based on the water availability in the reservoir. According to the schedule finalised at the meeting, 4,100 cusecs of water will be released into the Tungabhadra Left Bank Main Canal from August 11 to November 10. The Tungabhadra Right Bank High-Level Canal will receive 1,200 cusecs during the same period, while the Right Bank Low-Level Canal will receive 650 cusecs. The Tungabhadra Left Bank High-Level Canal will receive 25 cusecs from August 11 to November 10. In addition, 500 cusecs will be released into the river from August 11 to 17, Mr. Tangadagi said.
