Governor and Chancellor Thaawarchand Gehlot has issued a show-cause notice to C. Shivaraju, Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University, who was appointed recently. In a show-cause notice issued on Tuesday (August 11), the Governor sought an explanation from Prof. Shivaraju following a series of complaints on alleged irregularities that took place during his tenure as the Registrar (Evaluation) of Bangalore University. “Various complaints have been received with serious allegations in connection with your earlier tenure as evaluation registrar. You are requested to submit your point-wise written explanation along with supporting documents within seven days from the date of receipt of this notice,” stated the notice. The notice further reads that the above allegations, if established, are serious and may have a bearing on the suitability to hold the office of the Vice-Chancellor.
