The death toll from Assam's ongoing flood crisis has reached 100, with casualties spread across numerous districts as large parts of the state remain submerged.
Officials also corrected an earlier reporting error in Sivasagar district, where one death had been counted twice under the same name.
Cachar district has been hit hardest after Sivasagar, recording 22 deaths, followed by Karimganj with nine and Golaghat with eight.
Flooding remains severe in many parts of the state, with district administrations and revenue circles continuing to track water levels and coordinate relief efforts.
Separately, Jorhat district alone has seen roughly 1.66 lakh people affected across 304 villages, with nine deaths reported there so far, along with substantial damage to crops and livestock.
