Hyderabad: The two-day colourful Bonalu festival will conclude on Monday with temple committees organizing separate ‘Ghatam’ processions from Lal Darwaza to Musi River near Azalgunj. The processions taken out from various temple in old city will converge at Lal Darwza near Sri Simhahavini Mahankali Temple proceed to Musi River. The procession would pass through the main thoroughfares of Haribowli, Lal Darwaza, Charminar, Madina and culminate at Musi River near Afzalgunj where immersion process would be carried out after performing rituals. Potharajus smeared with vermillion and turmeric paste all over the body would lead the processions dancing to the pulsating drum beats. Traffic restrictions were also imposed to ensure that the procession proceed to its destination in a hassle-free manner.
