Canada: A Porter Airlines flight was cancelled after a child onboard reportedly refused to wear a seatbelt, forcing the aircraft to return to the terminal on August 6. According to reports, a child was found standing on a seat without a seatbelt after Porter Airlines flight PD444 departed from Victoria International Airport for Toronto. The child’s parent and cabin crew members reportedly tried to secure the seatbelt, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The crew subsequently decided to remove the parent, child and their baggage from the aircraft. Passengers on the flight were reportedly forced to spend the night in Victoria after authorities had to refile the flight plan and complete other paperwork.
