Karnataka Tourist Falls 400 Feet to Death in Maharashtra

Amboli: A 45-year-old tourist from Karnataka died after falling into a 400-foot gorge at Mahadevgad Point in Maharashtra's Sindhudurg district, a popular destination during the monsoon.
The incident took place around 5 pm on Tuesday when Dr Ayub Syed, a resident of Jatrat in Nipani, was visiting the viewpoint with nine colleagues.
According to the information available, Syed crossed the safety railing and went towards the edge of the gorge.
A local vendor who witnessed the fall alerted Syed's companions, following which police and rescue teams were informed.
The operation resumed at 6 am on Wednesday, with the Sahyadri Adventure Rescue Group and police recovering Syed's body.
