The Skill India programme, implemented since 2022-23, comprises PMKVY 4.0, NAPS-2 and the Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) scheme. Andhra Pradesh has 26 PMKVY centres, 1,135 NAPS establishments and six JSS centres. In Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district, 6,091 candidates were trained under PMKVY and 2,827 were certified. The government said PMKVY 4.0 focuses on industry-relevant training, on-the-job exposure and job linkages through Kaushal Mahotsavs and the Skill India Digital Hub. However, employers are not mandated to offer jobs to apprentices after completion of their training.
