The central government has cleared 11 fresh international entry points for foreign travellers holding e-visas, among them the Attari land crossing along the India-Pakistan frontier in Punjab, NDTV reported. The relaxation applies to all foreign nationals barring Pakistanis, since India withholds e-visa access from those carrying Pakistani passports or of Pakistani descent. Such travellers, as stated on the Indian visa application portal, "may please apply for a regular visa at the Indian Mission." Nine land ports have been folded into the list, namely Darranga, Gede, Ghojadanga, Haridaspur, Jaigaon, Dawki, Moreh and Attari (Road). The e-visa arrangement was first launched in 2014 with the aim of easing and modernising the country's visa framework for nationals of 43 nations.
