Punjab Police on Monday (10 August) broke up two significant cross-border drug and weapons smuggling operations, arresting seven persons and seizing 10 pistols, 1.054 kg of heroin and a drone, according to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav. Among the firearms recovered were one .30-bore Zigana, two 9mm Glock, one 9MM PX5, two .30-bore Chinese pistols, two .30-bore Star mark, one .30-bore and one .30-bore PX3, together with five live cartridges. Amritsar Commissioner of Police Harmanbir Singh Gill said that acting on credible inputs, police first held Kuldeep and Husanpreet and seized two pistols. This led to the arrest of Ahmed Raja and Jagseer, from whom five more pistols and three cartridges were recovered. In the second case, Navideep and Anmoldeep were caught with the heroin, followed by further recoveries and Manjinder's arrest.
