The estimated cost of the planned cable-stayed bridge linking Millat Nagar-Lokhandwala Complex in Andheri West with Bhagat Singh Nagar in Goregaon West has climbed to Rs 709.16 crore, after Tata Power's 110-kV transmission line and towers were found to be blocking the alignment.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has sanctioned Rs 24.58 crore for shifting the electricity infrastructure, a sharp rise from the Rs 10 crore set aside earlier.
The relocation, being a specialised task, will be carried out by Tata Power itself.
The bridge across Goregaon Creek is intended to serve as an alternative north-south corridor between Goregaon and Oshiwara, taking the load off S.V.
To resolve the clash with the power infrastructure, the BMC shared coordinates for an alternate location on 20 November 2025, following which Tata Power filed its relocation plan on 31 December.
