France’s aircraft accident investigation agency BEA and aircraft manufacturer Airbus are sending specialist teams to India to assist the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) in examining the Air India Phuket-Delhi flight incident that injured at least 17 people last week.
Their involvement comes as the AAIB investigates the sudden loss of altitude experienced by Air India flight AI2379 during its journey from Phuket to Delhi.
The incident occurred on August 4 when the Airbus A320, registered as VT-EXO, abruptly lost around 300 feet of altitude while cruising.
The Civil Aviation Ministry said on 9 August that several passengers and cabin crew members were injured during the incident.
The investigation is also examining the circumstances surrounding the flight crew.
