Insecticides India Ltd (IIL) on Tuesday posted a 24.5 per cent drop in consolidated net profit to ₹43.87 crore for the first quarter of this fiscal due to lower sales amid rainfall deficit. The national capital-based company had posted a net profit of ₹58.10 crore a year ago, it said in a regulatory filing. The total income declined by 11.22 per cent to ₹616.86 crore for the April-June quarter from ₹694.83 crore in the year-ago period. Expenses remained lower at ₹558.31 crore against ₹617.58 crore a year earlier. The company said the first quarter degrowth is "primarily attributable to rainfall deficit across India".
