Hyderabad:Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday visited the headquarters of US-based QuantumScape, famous for developing next-generation solid-state lithium-metal battery technology at San Jose in California. The minister held high-level talks with the company’s president and CEO, Dr Siva Sivaram and senior leadership on next-generation solid-state lithium-metal battery technology and possible collaboration with India’s advanced-manufacturing ecosystem. Both sides exchanged views on how emerging battery technologies could reshape existing supply chains and create opportunities for greater diversification and new manufacturing partnerships across geographies. Against this backdrop, Bhatti and QuantumScape leadership examined India’s growing electric-mobility and advanced-manufacturing ecosystem and the potential for future engagement. The talks explored possible opportunities in advanced materials and components, engineering and R&D, supply-chain partnerships and, over the longer term, localisation or expansion of next-generation battery technologies in India.
