Karreguttalu, located at an altitude of nearly 600 metres, is surrounded by hills and dense forests. With sustained anti-Maoist operations by Telangana and Chhattisgarh police significantly weakening extremist presence, the area is now gradually opening up. Emphasising development, the DGP said the government was according special priority to the region. Highlighting its natural charm, Anand said the hills, forests and waterfalls made Karreguttalu ideal for eco-tourism. Senior officials from police, forest and revenue departments of Telangana and Chhattisgarh also participated in the programme.
