The project envisages development of sewerage network infrastructure covering the core city, GHMC and urban local bodies within the ORR area. Telangana's Musi Riverfront Development Corporation submitted a preliminary proposal seeking a $500-million World Bank loan. Several Hyderabad road projects are being held up over transfer of land controlled by Central government agencies. The MA&UD department sent repeated letters in 2017, 2020, 2022 and 2023 seeking the land for construction of the flyover. The state government has also attempted to address concerns raised by the Centre over the existing Hyderabad Metro phase-1.
