VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials to complete the land resurvey in 9,365 villages and issue 68.64 lakh high-security pattadar passbooks to farmers within the next seven months.
Addressing a gathering at Kalidindi village in Eluru district during the ‘Mee-Bhoomi Mee Hakku’ programme, Naidu said 32.33 lakh pattadar passbooks had already been distributed in 7,451 villages during the past seven months.
“Having a pattadar passbook for the land in the ownership gives self-respect to the farmers or land owners.
Naidu said the government had resolved land issues covering 41,000 acres, benefiting 1.27 lakh farmers, industries and others.
Another 1.36 lakh acres had been made freehold, while digitisation of old land records, including 1B, Adangal, DKT and Inam records, was under way.
