Guwahati: The death toll from the ongoing floods and intensive rainfall in Assam has risen to 101, with several districts affected, according to the latest Disaster Reporting and Information Management System (DRIMS) bulletin. The state continues to grapple with rising water levels and inundation, forcing residents in several areas to move to safer locations. In Golaghat district, the situation has worsened in some areas after the Dhansiri River overflowed, with floodwaters entering homes in parts of Marangi Mouza. In several flood-hit areas, residents have been staying on upper floors of their homes to safeguard their belongings and livestock, while others have moved to relief camps. Authorities continue to monitor vulnerable areas, particularly settlements along rivers, and are carrying out rescue and relief measures for people displaced or affected by the flooding.
