Vijay Singh, Vice-Chairman of Tata Trusts, has stepped down from his position at the Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT), a philanthropic foundation managed by a board of trustees, three days before the end of his term. Singh, however, will continue to be a trustee on the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT), another foundation under that Tata Trusts umbrella. Together, these two trusts control over 52 per cent stake in Tata Sons, the group holding company of the salt-to-software conglomerate. Regulatory scrutinyA former IAS officer, Singh was inducted into the Tata Trusts in 2018. Other Tata-controlled trusts are due to hold their quarterly board meeting on Thursday.
