Hyderabad: An Air India pilot reportedly lodged a complaint with Air Traffic Control (ATC) after noticing a bright disco light while landing at Shamshabad Airport.
According to reports, the pilot of an Air India flight arriving from Delhi noticed the light beam directed towards the aircraft when it was around 100 nautical miles from the airport.
Such incidents can pose a serious risk to pilots, particularly during take-off and landing.
A strong beam of light entering the cockpit can temporarily impair a pilot’s vision and affect their ability to operate the aircraft safely.
