Chennai: Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) MLA and Social Welfare Minister Vanni Arasu on Monday welcomed the resolution moved by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay in the Tamil Nadu Assembly seeking to make singing of 'Tamizh Thaai Vaazhthu' mandatory before the commencement of government and public functions.
Speaking in the Assembly, Vanni Arasu said the VCK wholeheartedly supported the resolution and stressed the need for all members to adopt a unanimous position on the issue.
“I wholeheartedly welcome the resolution brought by Chief Minister Joseph Vijay,” he said, adding that the party welcomed the proposal to make 'Tamizh Thaai Vaazhthu' compulsory before government and public events.
Referring to the response to the resolution in the House, Vanni Arasu said he noticed that members on one side had expressed their support while there was no similar response from the other side.
“Our wish is that everyone should be united and have a unanimous opinion on this matter,” he said.
