Pune: Four youth were killed and two others injured after their car hit a road divider, overturned and collided with a truck on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway in Maharashtra's Satara district in the wee hours of Tuesday, police said.
The accident occurred at 1.10 am on the Satara-Pune lane of NH-48 at Shirwal in Khandala tehsil and affected traffic on the busy route, they said.
"A car was heading from Pune towards Satara when the driver lost control.
The vehicle hit the divider and overturned, after which it veered into the opposite lane and collided with a truck," a highway police official said.
The accident-hit vehicles were later removed with the help of a crane and traffic on the highway was restored, police said.
