New Delhi: Contrary to the Union Government claims, hospital records show that at least 10 were injured from projectiles fired from pellet guns during the police crackdown during the Parliament March on July 20.
According to response given by Delhi hospitals to an RTI filed by former MP and Trinamool Congress party national spokesperson Saket Gokhale, Lady Hardinge Hospital, Safdarjung Hospital treated 9 and one person respectively for pellet injuries on July 20.
The Delhi police claim that no pellet guns were used by them on July 20, against the protesting students at Jantar Mantar.
Several students and young professionals, including a journalist, were reportedly injured by the pellet guns during the police violence during the July 20 ‘Sansad Chalo’ protests.
The RTI response from Lady Hardinge Hospital also shows that 14 persons sustained Head and Facial injuries.
