CF Montreal is signing Alexis Sanchez, one of the most heralded Chilean football players of all time, The Athletic reported Monday. Sanchez, 37, would come to ‌Major League Soccer after spending the 2025-26 season with Sevilla in Spain's La Liga. Sanchez will occupy a Designated Player ⁠spot for Montreal, per the report. Sanchez won league titles in two ‌of ⁠Europe's Big Five leagues: La Liga with Barcelona in 2013 and Serie A with Inter Milan in both 2021 and 2024. Sanchez's signing would continue a trend of ⁠star players in the final stages of their careers coming to MLS.
