3 Kitchens Seized Over Unsafe Food Items In Bengaluru McDonald's Outlet

BENGALURU: The kitchens at Hotel Sky, UB City and Pegs and Bottles were seized and closed for enforcement action by Food Safety officials after an inspection by a team of officials came across expired and food safety-wise unsafe food articles.
Continuing their inspections on food businesses, Food safety officials checked at KFC and Subway and during inspections at these food businesses, officials collected samples of various food products including mayonnaise, chicken and bread and subjected them to lab tests to assess their quality and compliance with the prescribed food safety standards.
Not only were these food businesses inspected, the Food Safety officials examined godowns/warehouses supplying food products to these establishments and collected samples for food analysis.
As far as McDonald’s outlet in Brigade Road case is concerned, the Food Safety officials “a notice has been served to the concerned food business operator in accordance with the applicable provisions.
Apart from these food businesses inspected, officials concerned checked food items at 60 3-star and 5-star hotels and collected 77 food samples to subject them for lab analysis since collected food samples were found to be expired and non-compliant food articles were seized.
