Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL) to increase the number of coaches in trains in accordance with growing passenger demand. He also instructed officials to expedite works related to the Old City Metro corridor as part of Phase-II. acquiring land along the 7.5-km stretch in Old City from MGBS to Chandrayangutta early and initiate the tendering process for the Metro Rail works. He stressed the need to make use of contemporary technology and expertise to ensure efficient implementation of the Old City Metro Rail. At a meeting, he observed that passenger traffic was increasing by the day, and directed officials to take measures to meet the growing demand including by acquiring more coaches.
